The WOMBATS will be one of the first indie bands to play the 10,000 capacity venue. The show will be the last UK performance for The WOMBATS in 2008 and, in keeping with true Wombats style, it is set to be a mammoth homecoming party to thank all the fans for what has been a truly amazing year. Very special guests joining The WOMBATS party will be announced soon.

The announcement of the Liverpool Echo Arena show follows on from an extremely hectic year of live dates for The WOMBATS, starting with their forthcoming sold-out UK tour in April-May, which includes dates at London's Brixton Academy, The Royal Albert Hall and the Manchester Apollo; as well a packed-out festival season which sees them co-headlining the NME/Radio 1 stage at the Carling Weekender, playing the Other Stage at Glastonbury and playing T In The Park, Isle of Wight and Oxegen. Meanwhile in Europe they will play at no fewer than 17 festivals, including Ibiza Rocks and Pukkelpop (at which they are the only British act to perform) - not forgetting a quick trip to Japan to play Summer Sonic and Australia for Splendour.

Tickets for the Liverpool Arena show will go on pre-sale at 9am on Wednesday 23rd April, 2008 at http://www.artistticket.com/artist/?s=the%2Bwombats.

i can't wait till the 22nd november either. arriving in liverpool on the 21st staying in a hotel for two nights! can't wait its all booked up =] coming up to see you all the way from near ipswich cos we couldn't get tickets to see you in norwich, please let us know who's supporting!!

I bought my ticket for the arena today...I can't wait, will be there standing in the front row!!! Its gonna be awesome!!! Im just waiting to find out who will be supporting now then I can get really excited!!! See you there!!! x

got luck and blagged into the tiny Guardian tent and Glastonbury for a pretty special hour long gig... the lads were half mullered (at least!) but was fantastic!!!!!..... keep it up boys... youre doing us scousers proud!!!.... roll on November... gotta buy tickets off a tout though!!

Seen the wombats on the 9th of May.. was absoluteley AWSUM :D cant believe we met use and had a lock in at the pub with use!!! Hope use can actually read this... you'll remember me.. [2 Lauras:D] haha :D im guna try and get tickets for the 22nd of november:D love you guys lots xxxx
