This tour has been a long time coming for us and it has been well worth the wait! The chance to finally play new songs from our 2nd album to people has seen 3 fairly large elephants slowly step down from our shoulders.

We'd practiced all week leading up to our first gig in Manchester and with the new equipment we need for some of the new songs giving us some issues we were going to name the tour 'this technical glitch'!!  Fortunately a mixture of hard work from our crew and crossing of fingers from us 3 we pulled the show off glitch free... (Well, apart from our backline tech being electrocuted in Newcastle!) So we need to find a new name for the tour..suggestions welcome.

Manchester, Newcastle and Dundee have all been amazing. The crowds have given us adrenalin rushes we haven't felt for some time so merci buckets to you all for that. Got a few memories so far - We hope the 2 girls in Newcastle who gave Murph reason to say from stage that he'd "never seen anyone that pissed before" are ok. Big love to the guy on the shoulders in Dundee singing along to 'My 1st Wedding', perfect timing in the 3rd verse for Dan and Tord's shout! Condom Balloon in Newcastle, someone should market that. Thanks to Zen Arcade & Get People for getting the crowds going each night!

Well, we're off to soundcheck in Edinburgh now so gonna have to leave it short but thanks to all who have been with us so far. To be continued...

View out over Sydney from Cotts Cove - a quiet little beach our Tour Manager Sarah frequented when she lived out here.. a small slice of paradise in this amazing city. Good to have some local knowledge!

    What a crap view..

We found a nudist beach, but were disappointed only to find a few shrivelled old men catching some afternoon rays. Wasn't quite the babe-fest Hollywood films would have us envisage!

    Daniel Haggis.. part-time musician/full-time model.

Another rubbish view out over Sydney harbour..

Fish and Chips.. Oz style! They certainly know how to do things out here! Best fish and chips we've had in a LONG time.. pretty rock n roll are we!

Just a quick update from Australia. We've just landed in Sydney having played a blistering set in Perth!

Single is out today and seeing as we're so far away we can't mass buy it ourselves so we're relying on you guys to do it for us!

Thanks for all the karaoke responses - we've had lots of laughs watching them all! And thanks also for all your continuing support and love and look forward to seeing you all on our upcoming UK tour dates.

    LAX
At LAX- Finished recording album no.2!!!! Haven’t slept much the last few months..probably get on a 13hr 50min flight now, that should sort us out…

    SOUNDCHECK
Safely arrived in Brisbane having missed a day of this week out somehow. Think the International Date Line is to blame, the thief!!
Straight to the hotel to dump our bags then off to the festival site to sound check. We haven’t done a gig for 10months!! Tonight we’ll have a few ‘welcome’ drinks and get a fairly early night in preparation for tomorrow’s gig. We’ll be drinking a cocktail of excitement and apprehension with a splash of jet lag..pretty strange mix!

B12 Shots: Meet what they call a ‘rock doc’ who is administering vitamin B12 injections to the bands to help with jet lag and give us our energy back…we’re not the biggest fans of needles!!! We were all very brave boys! We then had an acoustic practice in murph’s hotel room to get us in the swing of things. Murph’s boxies have sprouted arms and legs and conduct us. We don’t miss a beat!

GIG BRISBANE: Murph nearly throws up before the gig, our adrenalin levels reach highs we haven’t experienced in a long time..the crowd starts chanting…wombats, wombats…here we go!!!! Just like riding a super charged sub woofing bike…

Pulled it off!! The Ozzies are amazing (thanks to all of you for making our first gig back so enjoyable!)..total legends! Off to Perth tomorrow, if every gig is like Brisbane then these next 2 weeks should be pretty smart.

    Love you all,
    The Bats x
